Note |
Album with 11 large photographs (10 photographs mounted in the album and 1 loose photograph) made 4th August 1948 of a performance of the Babar Layar ensemble in the Frans Hals Museum in Haarlem. Babar Layar was the very first “white” gamelan ensemble, also using instruments that were made by Europeans, under the watchful eye of the ethnomusicologist Jaap Kunst.
Sticker with name and logo or Piet Marée stuck on page 1. Piet Maree was an author, typographer, illustrator, photographer, graphic designer. Maybe he made the photographs of this album.
