Note

Boeken I-VI gaan terug op het afschrift dat Camphuijs in Batavia had laten maken (thans BPL 311), voordat de originele manuscripten van Rumphius in 1692 naar Nederland werden gestuurd en tijdens de zeereis verloren gingen toen het schip de "Waterland" door de Fransen tot zinken werd gebracht. Boeken VII-XII en het Auctuarium zijn de originele manuscripten, op Ambon onder leiding van Rumphius vervaardigd. Het betreft geen autografen aangezien Rumphius (blind geworden) met klerken en tekenaars werkte. Tot deze set behoort ook de 1e Appendix (BPL 315). Een deel van de zogenaamde 2e Appendix berust thans onder BPL 1924.
