Origin and date: According to Bischoff 2004: "(ff. 1-2) "Saint-Amand, IX. Jh., Ende". - (ff .3-30) "Reims, IX. Jh., 4. Viertel". - (ff. 31-62) "Wahrscheinlich Reims, IX. Jh., ca. 3. Viertel". - (ff. 63-151) "Wohl Ostfrankreich, IX. Jh., 2. Drittel.".
Binding: Post-medieval binding. - Conservation binding (2001): vellum covering (with turned edges) over new parchment endleaves (sewn with the bookblock) and alum-tawed leather spine; bookblock sewn on five supports, laced-in; two (oriental) peg-and-frost fastenings. - According to Gumbert 2009, the old flyleaves and those in ms. Valenciennes 160 were part of a 9th-century manuscript of Virgil's Georgica.
Textual: (ff. 31r-62r) Written against the views of the theologian Gottschalk, which Hincmar considered heretical.
