Note | Date: According to Lieftinck 1964, the manuscript was written in the then newly founded monastery of Lorsch (1145) for bishop Buggo (also Burkhard) of Worms (died 1149), who gave or bequeathed it to the monastery of Schönau. On f. 5r there's a dedication to Buggo: "Contulit hunc librum tibi [later changed into: per] presul BUGGO Marie Illustris princeps in pace sit ipse deinceps. Si quis miratur flores liber istae vocatur". |
