Note	Red full-leather binding with flap and blind-tooled decoration, embroidered headbands. Gift of Prof. Michael Jan de Goeje (1836-1909), who had received the MS from Capt. J.H.A. IJssel de Schepper, who found it on on the body of a dead 'Achehnese priest' after the storming of the Great Mosque ('Missigit') of Kotaradja (Banda Aceh) in the first Acheh War of 1873-1974. The MS was despatched from 'Bivouac Zeestrand' to the Netherlands on April 27th, 1874.
