Nilawagaij named by the Malabars and by the Sinhalese Wineijkaroewileij is a ground-creeping herb. The root is boiled in water and drunk to purge the body and purify the blood. The juice of the plant mixed with some oil is rubbed on the body to cure scabies. They grow plentiful on Jaffanatpatnam and Tutucorijn, but little on Ceijlon.
