The root of Zattawaria, named by the Malabars and the Sinhalese, is fine, grows with several branches in the soil and tastes glue-like on the tongue. The root, pounded and boiled in rice water, works as a pain killer and is a great medicine for the 'persie' (abdominal cramps?) when patients take it as their daily drink. They grow everywhere in large quantities.
