Origin and date: (part 4) According to Bischoff 2004: "Wahrscheinlich Niederlande (oder Nordwestdeutschland), IX. Jh., ca. 3. Viertel"..
Binding: Medieval binding, not contemporary (1465, Egmond). - Leather (blind-tooled) over wooden boards with rounded edges (reused). Romanesque board attachment. Two eye-and-pin fastenings (long-strap, closing on front board face, renewed). Metal corner pieces (2x2) and feet (2x2); traces of bosses (2x4) and of chain attachment (back board). Fixed page markers (cut and folded leaf edges) on bookblock fore edge. - Bookblock resewn, spine renewed. - Boards from the older binding of part 3 were reused to accommodate other parts in the 15th century convolute. For the decoration of the leather covering cf. Verheyden 1952-1954.
Textual: (ff. 2r-41v) The Philosophia mundi was divided in four books, concerning astronomy, geography, meteorology and medicine. - (f. 54v) Fragment. Contains De plagis Egypti (no. 34). - (ff. 54v-56r): Incipit: "Vos qui diligitis bona que retinere nequitis...". - (ff. 56v-61v) "Passio sanctae Christianae virginis (Incipit:) Erat quedam sancta et sacra puella de Tyro ...". - (ff. 62r-133v) With music notation. Contains two lines of text with neumes on f. 133v.
