Van Gogh was an admirer of the work of landscape painter Charles-François Daubigny (1817-1878), who had lived in Auvers-sur-Oise. Daubigny was born in Paris and moved to Auvers circa 1860. When Van Gogh came to Auvers in 1890 he painted Daubigny's garden three times. The garden and house-workshop of Daubigny is situated on 61 Rue Daubigny, 95430 Auvers-Sur-Oise.
