                "Dating includes the entire period Frank Scholten was in the Middle East. Latrun (Latroun) near Ramleh lies in Ayalon/Ajalon Valley. It had a monastery Dair Latrun (Abbaye de Latroun) that ran a school for young boys. This monastery was in ruins between 1918-1926, when Scholten visited. It was the place of the Battle of Latrun between 25 May to 18 July 1948.",
