Note | The Battler Poet / The Migrant Worker Poet was instrumental in establishing the genre of battler poetry / migrant worker poetry (打工诗歌). With Xu Qiang and Luo Deyuan among its key members, the journal was among the earliest and certainly among the most impactful publications of battler poetry. It exemplifies how unofficial publishing establishes lateral linkage between divergent types of cultural production, from elite to subaltern. The journal was later renamed Battler Poetry / Migrant Worker Poetry (打工诗歌). |
