Note | Produced by the Survivors Poetry Club in Beijing, The Survivor (aka in English as Survivor) is part of the legacy of Today (Jintian), visible in the involvement of Mang Ke, Yang Lian, Duoduo, and Lin Mang, together with critic Tang Xiaodu. Following two regular issues, a third issue appeared on the occasion of the First Survivors Poetry Festival in April 1989, during the turbulent months prior to the suppression of the 1989 Protest Movement remembered as June Fourth. The Festival was closely watched by the authorities, and the power was cut before the program was finished. |
