He white Lilly hath long fmooth and full bodied leaues of a grallie or light green co-

lour.The {talks be two cubits high,and fomtimes more, fer or garniihed with the like

leaues,but growing fmaller and fmaller toward the top 5 and vpon them do grow faire. white floures {lrongol fmell, narrow toward the foot of the Pcalke whereon they do grow, wide 01' open in the mouth like a bell. In the middle part of them doe grow {mall tender pointals ti ppfid witha duliy yellow colour , ribbed or chamfered on the back fide , confifizing ofiix fmall leaues thicke and fat. The root is abulb made of fcaly cloues, fullof tough and clamtny juice,wherc- with the whole plant doth generally abound.

2 The white Lilly of Conftantinople hath very large 8: fat leaues like the f'ormer,but narrower and leller. The flalke rifeth vp to the height of three cubits,fet and garniflied with leaues alfo like the precedent,but much lefle. Which fialke oftentimes doth alter and degenerat from his natu~ rall rou_ndnefl'e to afiat forme, as it were a lath ofwood furrowed or chanelled alongft the fame, as it ribs or welts.
