Abstract | Bakuya kofun, Kôryôchô, Kitakatsuragi-gun, Nara-ken, is a round mounded tomb, 48 m in diameter built at the top of Urami ridge in today Urami Kyûryô park. In the center of the mound is a 17 m long passage way tomb built with large blocks of stone. The tomb has been robbed several times but some burial goods still remained: in the passage way a large quantity of Sue ware pottery sherds, between the coffin in the back and the wall of the tomb chamber two sets of a horse harness and around 350 arrow heads of a fifty odd bundles of arrows which had been placed against the back wall and the right wall.
