Abstract | Stone tools, ornaments and two spindle whorls: polished axe, grauwacke (or greywacke, a very hard composite sandstone which contains more minerals than quarzit), L. 9 cm. Polished axe, shale, L. 11,2 cm. Polished axe, grauwacke, L. 16,7 cm. Two reaping knives, L. 10,6 cm and 11,4 cm, hornfels (fine-grained metamorphic rock). Two awls, sandstone, L. 4,2 cm and L. 5,3 cm. Four polished arrowheads, shale, L. 5,1-7,5 cm. Five chipped arrowheads, obsidian and one sanukite, L. 2,5-3,2 cm. Jadeite pendant, L. 2,7 cm. Two spindle whorls, pottery, D. 4-5,5 cm. Final Jomon. Magarita Site, Nijômachi, Fukuoka-ken. The stone implements found in Magarita Site date from the period when wet rice agricultur |
