Abstract | see also b&a 115 Signed with seal: Shinsai, printed by the studio of Ryûsai. Shinsai was one of the first pupils of Hokusai. Shinsai took his artist's name from the name Tatsumasa which Hokusai occasionally used during that period (shin is another reading of the character tatsu). The prints are from a larger sixpanel composition that forms a continuous screen.
