Abstract | A bronze arrowhead stuck in a adult male hip-bone. The person had been attacted from behind and his hip-bone shows several other injuries. Late Yayoi. L. 18,3 cm, W. 10 cm. Aoyakamijichi, Aoyachô, Tottori-ken. In the Yayoi farmer- and fishermen settlement Aoyakamijichi Site the excavators found the bones of around 100 persons who were not buried. Around 110 of these bones (from around ten individuals) show mortal injuries underlining the warlike nature of the Yayoi period, especially in western Japan.. Tottori-ken Board of Education. |
