Mehmed, known as Alti Parmak (d. 1033/1623). It begins with an introduction in which the author (his name is mentioned on the third leaf, left margin) explains that the work is a translation of Ma'&rij an-nubuwwafl madarij al-futuwwa, a Persian work by a namesake of the Prophet, Mu‘m ad-Drn Muhammad al-Farahfs (d. 907/1501-2, cf. Storey 1/1, p. 187). As the original, the work consists of a preface (mukaddime), four parts (‘pillars’, riikn) and a conclusion.
