Cod.Or. 12.343 Sa ‘at-name <L *k A mid 19th-century copy of a popular ‘book of hours’ by Hibetiillah £avu$ b. ibrahlm. The name of the author, who does not seem to be documented in secondary literature, is mentioned in ff. 6b:7 and 7b:7. The work is preceded by a long introduction (lb-12a) in which the author recommends his book which will ensure the reader or copyist a place in heaven. The main text consists mostly of prayer lines and their interpretation. Both the introduction and the work itself are largely devoted to the qualities of the various hours of the day, the prayers to be performed, the Koran passages to be read out, and the influence of angels and demons on mankind during them; the final part is dedicated to the paradise hours’ and the destiny of the human soul in the Hereafter.
