In a Malay pencil note between p. 1 and 2 the explanation is offered that Prabu Indrapuri of the tale is* a pseu donym of Ameqku Buwana III (Sultan Raja) of Yogyakarta, pandita Amot) Raga is Sul tan Abdul Hamid Erucakra Dipanagara I, and Raden Mantri Muhammad Arip, the author, is paijéran Dipa Nagara II, a com mander during the war (waktu përaq men- jadi senopati, i.e. probably the Dipa Nagara war, 1830). The book has on the first page the signature of radèn mas Djafar, Sumë- dai3, 24/9/1898, perhaps a later descendant of Dipa Nagara. Yogyakarta script and idiom.
