The text contains the story of Dewa Laksana, son of the King Indera Kesna, who is still in the custody of a regent; through the intervention of a parakeet he falls in love with a princess; he sets out on a journey, finds her and persuades her to be unfaithful to her fiancé; after the fiancé is killed in a battle the princess is brought home by Dewa Laksana; he marries her, and marries his four companions to four court ladies; on the fly leaf is a table of contents by Klinkert with a note that this syair is the same as Syair Dewa Mambang. Crowned eagle in scroll-work with GIORMAGNANI (similar to Heawood 3748), also ALMASSO and figure I in corner of leaf (early 19th c. ?); 20'A x 15 cm.; 19 lines per p.; legible writing; in the pantun at the end Pangeran Ratu is mentioned. The story is similar to that in Cod.Or. 1943; Klinkert was informed by his scribe that the story must stem from the pre-Muslim period and was held in high esteem. A MS of this syair was only lent out in secrecy and the owner was reluctant to allow copies to be made. Van Ronkel 1921, pp. 68-9, no. 165.

Beetle with K & S and 1863\ 20 x 15‘/2 cm.; 19 lines per p.; legible writing; according to a note by Klinkert on the front page the syair was written by Encik Kamariah, former nurse of Sultan Mahmud. The text contains a panegyric on Sultan Mahmud Mudhafar Syah ibn Muhammad Syah of Riau, starting from his ascent to the throne and ending with his return to Lingga from his voyage to Singapore. Eendracht with VAN GELDER-, 20 x 16 cm.; 18 lines per p.; neat writing; copied by one of Klinkerfs clerks; the copying was finished on 29 Rabi‘ul-akhir 1281/1 October 1864 at Penyengat (Riau); on the flyleaf an abstract by Klinkert; at the back of p. 1 a note by Klinkert (dated 1864) that the author of the poem probably was Daeng Wuh of Penyengat, a woman of royal descent, who was married to Sayid Muhasin Attas and had died in Pahang 13 years earlier.
