The text contains the story of the young ruler of Kembayat who, because of a crime committed by his father, is imprisoned by seven daughters of the emperor of China; his wife, Siti Zubaidah who because of ignorance of her descent has been ill-treated by his mother in favour of the second wife of royal blood, frees him and brings him to her own country; after the subjugation of China she returns with her husband to Kembayat where a reconciliation with her mother-in-law takes place; her son, born in the forest on her way to free her husband and found and brought up by her brother the ruler of Irak, succeeds his father; on the flyleaf an abstract by Klinkert; it is the same story as Syair Kembayat, cf.
