The syair, ff. lv-30r, begins with an account of the marriage of Encik Wan Bengkulu, also called Abdur-Rahman, to a daughter of Raja Husin of Pulau Terung; in this context the temenggung of Singapura at Tanjung Puteri is mentioned; then the author loses himself in didactics, beginning with moral and ending (the greater part) with religious advice; this last part is in the form of dialogues. Syair Siti Dzawiah . T 102 pp.; British white laid and blue wove paper; wm. Britannia with J WHA1MAN, 20 x 15'A cm.; 18 lines per p.; bad writing; the copying was finished (according to a note by Klinkert by a Malay woman) in 1273/1856-57 at Penyengat; in a note Klinkert mentions Tuan Bilal Abu as the author and that in the year 1864 (the year Klinkert acquired the MS ?) this man had already been dead for 30 years.

Also called Syair Haris Fadhilalr, the syair tells the story of Haris Fadhillah, ruler of Basrah, and a merchant’s daughter, Siti Dzawiah; published in Singapore in 1297/1880; cf. Van Ronkel 1909, p. 341. Van Ronkel 1921, pp. 67-8, no. 162.
