The text, ff. 2v-25r, comprises a love poem; it consists of the profession of love by a man and his description of his ideal beloved; at the end, the copyist apologizes that he does not dare to make additions to it because this MS was written at the behest of the government: Tamatlah surat sahaya ini, hendak menambah tiada berani. The text, ff. lv-31v, is the story of Siti Kubah in Medali Negara who, after the death of her father (a merchant), had to live with her uncle, a rich merchant; having rejected the overtures of her cousin Abdul-Hamid, she is accused of immoral behaviour and is sent away to the forest with her servant, Zahid; there she is found by Sultan Bandar Syah, who marries her; he sends troops to Medali Negara, which also comes under his jurisdiction, to confiscate the treasures of Siti Kubah’s uncle; this merchant tries to incite Medali Negara’s ruler to war against Sultan Bandar Syah but in vain; Bandar Syah exposes the identity of his consort; the merchant confesses his guilt and receives all his belongings back. The text, pp. 1-44, tells the story of a reigning family who are shipwrecked on a boat trip; stranded on an island the ruler falls asleep, while his consort looks for food for her two hungry sons; begging for food on the beach she is taken aboard by a merchant; she locks herself in a cabin and threatens to commit suicide if the merchant touches her; when he awakes the ruler, looking for people, wishes to cross the river; having brought one son across he swims back to fetch the other but is swallowed by a jerung fish; a fisherman finds his sons and brings them up; the jerung fish runs on
