Sja ‘ir Hadji. p. 242 No. 621. 6077. E. Njanjian. Comparing the text of the MS with Van Ronkel’s description I discovered out the discrepancies. There are eleven titles in the MS, instead of four as described by Van Ronkel. The tenth is the Cerita Si Malanca mentioned above, containing three picaresque stories, of which the third is unfinished, as is evident in my description in this catalogue. From that time on I had to be more careful in handling MSS already described by Van Ronkel. This took more time than was planned by the BIS. My draft description was put on cards 20 x 15 cm., which were handed over to an assistant for typing up on a typewriter on typing paper. Besides this work the assistant also had the task of making additions to the bibliography in my draft. A xerox-copy of this description was dispatched to Prof. Roolvink for his comments and approval.
