UBL Library Catalogues

In four centuries many catalogues and inventories have been printed that provide access to the holdings of Leiden University Libraries. A selection of catalogues that are free of copyright have been digitized, and can be consulted online.
This selection includes the Nomenclator of 1595 (which can be regarded as the first comprehensive catalogue of a public library collection ever to be printed); the famous Catalogus librorum tam impressorum quam manuscriptorum Bibliothecae Publicae Universitatis Lugduno-Batavae of 1716 (the last catalogue that covered all of Leiden’s library holdings); catalogues describing Western and Oriental manuscript collections, and important loan collections. The selection of digitized catalogues will gradually be expanded.
